NEW! - Added an
ermine drawing that I did for my sister, who sent me a photo to post!
(Thanks!). And a panda...
My dad just sent me a copy of the fish
I painted for him as well...
I am still in the process of trying to locate
other pictures that I can scan in. Check back occasionally if you like my
work. Please note: these are not the highest resolution images I
have. If you are interested in printing any of the images, please let me
know, as I have much higher resolution images for that purpose (especially the
CGI images). If you wish to use any of these images, please see Terms
of Use.

White Dragon
This was a pencil
drawing. This is one of the earliest graphics I still have from a VERY
long time ago. It was based on the cover from Anne MacAffrey's (sp?)
"The White Dragon" (Dragonriders of Pern) (1981)

Yorgle
the Yellow Dragon (Original)
This was a pencil
drawing colored with some paint sticks. I did this (as well as the "Grundle"
drawing below and a "Rhindle" picture that is lost) as original
drawings of the dragons from the old Atari Adventure game for my (now but not
then) brother-in-law. My sister found these after their last move and let
me borrow them so I could scan them in. (1982)

I used my drawing to create a CGI image using
the Gimp. It is shown below.
Yorgle the
Yellow Dragon
This is a CGI
image. I used the Gimp to rework my old
Yorgle picture for my kids and my niece and nephew. This was my first
real experiment using the Gimp to do any serious work. (2003)

Grundle
the Green Dragon (Original)
See the description of Yorgle above.
(1982)

The CGI image can be found below.
Grundle the
Green Dragon
This is a CGI
image. I used the Gimp to rework my old
Grundle picture like I did the Yorgle image. (2003)

Rhindle the Red Dragon (Original)
(added 24-Jul-2005) My sister found this one in June, so here it is;
maybe there is still hope for Gandalf. (1982)

The CGI image can be found below.
Rhindle the
Red Dragon (New)
This is a CGI
image. I used the Gimp to rework my old Rhindle picture like I did the
Yorgle image. (2005)

Gandalf at the Battle before the Black Gate
This was an watercolor/acrylic painting done for my
(now but not then) brother-in-law. Paul said they still have it, so when
he or my sister finds it I will scan it
in. (1984)
Unicorn
This was a cross-hatch
drawing done with india ink for a friend at the end of my freshman year at the
University of Michigan. (1985)

Bald Eagle with eaglets
This was a cross-hatch done with
pencil. This drawing was based on a picture of an eagle on (of all things) a
Kleenex box. (1985)

Bald Eagle in a power dive
This was a cross-hatch
drawing done with india ink. This drawing was based on a picture of an eagle
in an insurance advertisement (the photo in the ad had the eagle
perched on a branch). (1988)
![[Drawing of Eagle]](../images/eagle_s.gif)
Arctic Wolf
This was a sketch done
with an Ebony pencil. This drawing was based on a painting I saw at a
wildlife art festival. (1988)
![[Drawing of Wolf]](../images/wolf_s.gif)
Panda (Added
11/2006)
This was a sketch done
with an Ebony pencil. This drawing was based on a
picture from when the Toledo Zoo had two pandas on loan from China. I gave
it to my sister, who recently found it and emailed a photo of it.... (1988)

Ermine (Added
11/2006)
Here is a copy of an ermine that I did
as a gift to my sister. It is an Ebony pencil, done in a similar fashion as the
wolf above. (~1991)

Grey Wolves
Here is a copy of the wolves I did for
my grandfather. It is an Ebony pencil, done in a similar fashion as the
wolf above. (1992)

Northern Pike (Added
11/2006)
Here is a copy of the northern pike I
did for my dad. It is a water color. (1997)

Unicorn
This was a mural I painted on the wall of my daughter's room. (2002)
I used my drawing to create a CGI image using
the Gimp. It is shown below.

Unicorn Wall Redux
This is a CGI
image I did from the wall mural in my daughter's room. I took the digital
photo into
the Gimp for computer "painting", similar to what I did for the
others. (2004)

Spider-Bird
This is a CGI
image. I used the Gimp to put a spider-man costume on my kids'
parakeet. They got a kick out it, even if it is rather silly. (2003)

Cardinal
(Original)
This is a pencil
drawing I did as a Christmas gift. It is not terribly detailed, as I used
it as the starting point for a watercolor painting, as well as a CGI image
(shown next). (2003)

Cardinal
(Gimp)
This is a CGI
image I did as the second part of the Christmas gift. I scanned the
drawing above prior to watercolor painting, then took the scanned drawing into
the Gimp for computer "painting", similar to what I did for the two
dragon pictures above. (2003)

"You Are My
All in All" This is a Ebony pencil
image. More information can be found on my
CRHP artwork page.
(2006)

a sketch done
with an Ebony pencil, a gum eraser, and tissue paper to blend the
shades. The gum eraser was used to create various shading effects.
A cross-hatch
drawing done with india ink (preferred) or pencil. The different shading effects are
created by changing the distance between the lines (closer lines
appear darker).
Normally a drawing (either pencil/ink) that
is colored using watercolor paint to bring in an element of color.
Computer Graphics Images created using the Gimp,
an excellent (and free) open source graphics editing tool.
