Below is copies of the artwork I did for Holy Family CRHP Team 7. The
originals are HUGE (on the order of 3-10 MB), so even the "large" copies you see
when you click the images below are just glorified thumbnails!
I did some artwork for the Fall 2006 retreat. I
created our main theme image by
retouching and combining two images (you can find them here
Shroud of Turin Education Project): a 1935 painting by Armenian artist
Ariel Aggemian inspired by the Shroud of Turin, and an image of the shroud
itself.
I did all the retouching and effects (such as the
halo) using The Gimp for Windows.
I created another image inspired by
Jesus and the Lamb by Katherine
Brown. I could have easily used the image from that site, but I didn't want
to infringe on her copyright. Also, I found at least three other pictures
by artists with the same theme, so I incorporated the face from the above image
into the theme using The Gimp, and used that as a model for my own ebony pencil
drawing.
However, I wasn't satisfied with the drawing; I messed up the eyes. Its not
bad, but since I had created the base image and it was better, I just used that.
